Bayerische Motoren Werke, or BMW as most know it today is one of the most recognized brand names in the world, even one of the most searched and sought out on the internet. What is it about the Bavarian Motor Works that draws people to it? One just has to drive one of these great cars to know what the BMW name means and evokes in anyone who has a passion for automobiles. From the engine note when you crank the ignition to the thrill of the accelerator and the handling one enjoys in these superior driving machines. Built for drivers, as the slogan says, "The ultimate driving machine". Bayerische Motoren Werke, or BMW as most know it today has thousands of pages devoted to it on the internet today, my goal is to accumulate links to websites and to create a directory of fanciers, businesses, books, publications and any product that a fan of the BMW may have an interest in. This directory is to feature those that do and do not have websites, truly making this a unique BMW resource that is easy to search and well categorized. BMW MODELS DECODED Like any hobby, the BMW enthusiast has a languagge all his own, the most common question is regarding product codes. Froom time to time while surfing these links and others, you will see references to E33 or E65 etc...These are not referencing some obscure ot foreign model, but current and past models by their BMW product codes. The table below is meant to be a handy refenrence for the rest of us, not yet so well versed in BMW speak.
